Strengthening Chemical Management with Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC)

We’re proud to announce that we’ve officially joined the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) community as a Signatory Friend! This is an important step forward in strengthening our commitment to safer, cleaner, and more sustainable chemical practices across our supply chain.

Learn more about ZDHC

ZDHC is a multi-stakeholder platform driving the industry toward zero discharge of hazardous chemicals. From guidelines on chemical use to wastewater testing and transparency tools, ZDHC offers resources to help brands and suppliers shift to more sustainable practices.

Why it matters

Chemicals are a part of every stage in textile production — from dyeing to finishing. If not managed properly, hazardous chemicals can pose risks to human health, worker safety, and the environment. By aligning with ZDHC, we’re joining a global effort to:

  • Eliminate hazardous substances from the textile value chain
  • Improve wastewater quality from production sites
  • Promote transparency and accountability in chemical use

This collaboration underscores our commitment to environmental protection, employee safety, and industry-wide change for a cleaner and safer future.

How we manage chemicals

We already have a robust chemical management program in place. Here are the spotlights on our chemical management.

  • We have implemented a Restricted Substances Policy and test garments regularly to ensure compliance
  • Our Restricted Substances List (RSL) outlines harmful chemicals and sets strict limits for their presence in finished products
  • We require all material and finished goods suppliers to comply with these standards
  • By preventing the use and discharge of these chemicals, we reduce risks and contribute to safer production and cleaner wastewater

Through this joined-up approach, we aim to ensure the products we offer are safe for both our customers and the planet.

A Look Ahead

A NEW CHAPTER IN TRIUMPH – more to come!

  • We will need to familiarize with the list of restricted and prohibited substances used in textile manufacturing processes.
  • We have informed all suppliers about MRSL requirements and expectations, and will continue this journey.
  • We will need to review and approve raw materials, chemicals, and auxiliaries based on the MRSL.
  • We will need to incorporate MRSL compliance into purchasing and procurement processes.
  • We will conduct training sessions to educate staff on the importance of MRSL compliance.
  • We need to maintain detailed records of assessments, test reports, certificates, and actions taken.
